The rules for using Time Dates, written to be read. They cover what the service offers, how you may use our content and the limits of what we can promise.

01Agreement

These terms apply to your use of timedates.org. By using the website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Time Dates.

02What Time Dates offers

Time Dates provides free clocks, calendars, public holiday lists, date calculators, time zone conversion, and sunrise, sunset and moon times. The service is for general information, and you do not need an account to use it.

03Accuracy of information

We build every tool on trusted sources and check our calculations carefully. Even so, governments can change time zone and daylight saving rules or declare holidays at short notice, and calculations can contain errors.

Please check important dates and times, such as travel plans or legal and contract deadlines, with an official source before relying on them.

04Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the website for anything unlawful
  • Try to break into, overload or disrupt the website or its servers
  • Copy the website or its data in bulk with automated tools without our written permission
  • Present Time Dates content as your own or remove credit to its sources

05Content and data licences

The design, text, code and layout of Time Dates belong to Time Dates. You may link to any page and quote short parts of the text with a link back.

Some data comes from third parties under their own licences:

  • Time zone rules from the time zone database of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, which is in the public domain
  • Place names and coordinates from GeoNames, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence
  • Public holiday dates from the open-source holidays library, under the MIT licence

06Links to other websites

Time Dates links to other websites, such as official sources. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or availability.

07No warranty

Time Dates is provided as it is and as available. We do not promise that the website will always be available, free of errors or suitable for a particular purpose.

08Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Time Dates is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using, or not being able to use, the website or any information on it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may add, change or remove tools at any time. We may also update these terms, and the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Using Time Dates after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Not without written permission. Heavy automated requests slow the site down for everyone. Write to us if you need data for a project.

Where does Time Dates get its data?

Time zone rules come from the time zone database of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, places from GeoNames and holiday dates from the open-source holidays library. Each is used under its own licence.

Tell us through the contact page with the page address, what you expected and your city. We fix confirmed mistakes as quickly as we can.

We work to keep the site online, but we cannot promise that it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance.

No. External links are there to help, but we do not control those websites or their content.
